Anton Korsakov Honored Artist of Russia First Soloist of the Mariinsky Ballet Dance Open: 2006

Graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 1998. Performs main classical parts of the world repertoire: Count Albrecht, Solor, Prince Siegfried, Basil, Prince Desire, Romeo, and others. Dances in productions by Michael Fokine, George Balanchine, John Neumeier, Harald Lander, and others (more than 40 roles in total). In 2005 got the title «Dance of the Year» by Dance Europe magazine. Participated in the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games in Sochi in the part of The Spirit of the Rose. Toured with Mariinsky Ballet to different countries of Europe, to China, Japan, and the USA.

Ángel Corella

Ángel Corella Artistic Director of Pennsylvania Ballet Dance Open: 2009

Prize-winner at International Ballet Competitions. He studied ballet in Madrid and started performing already at the age of 12. Ángel Corella joined the American Ballet Theatre as a soloist in April 1995 and in August 1996 was promoted to a principal dancer. In 2001 Corella formed a foundation to promote classical dance in Spain and six years later the Corella Ballet came to birth. From 2008-2014, he served as director for his own company, the Barcelona Ballet (formerly the Corella Ballet), where he is regarded as a national treasure. It was the first classical ballet company established in the country in 20 years. Corella retired from the ABT in June 2012 but continued to dance with his own company. Regarded as one of the finest dancers of his generation, Angel Corella has been appointed Artistic Director of Pennsylvania Ballet beginning with the 2014-2015 Season. Corella’s talent, technique, and passion have brought him wide acclaim around the world.

Yolanda Correa

Yolanda Correa Principal Dancer of the Norwegian National Ballet Dance Open: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018

Born in Holguin in Cuba. Studied at the School of the Arts of Holguin and National School of Ballet in Havana, and won the Contest Meetings of Ballet Academies in 1999. Before she joined the Norwegian National Ballet in autumn 2010, Yolanda was a Principal Dancer with the Cuban National Ballet with which she has around the world. With the Norwegian National Ballet she has danced a number of principal parts in all the classical repertoire of the company, among which are Odette/Odile, Kitri, Juliet, Firebird, Tatiana (“Onegin”). Also danced in modern works by Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon. Winner of the Positano Prize in 2012.

Herman Cornejo

Herman Cornejo Principal Dancer of the American Ballet Theater Dance Open: 2008, 2010, 2013Dance Open Award: Mister Expressivity 2010, Mister Expressivity 2013

Herman Cornejo was born in San Luis province, Argentina, and began his ballet studies at the age of 8 at the Instituto Superior de Arte of Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires. In 1995 when he was 14, he received a scholarship from the School of American Ballet. On his return to Buenos Aires he was invited to join Julio Bocca’s Ballet Argentino. Soon he was promoted to Principal Dancer with Ballet Argentino, alternating with Julio Bocca in all the principal roles of the repertoire during the company’s international tours. In 1999 Herman joined American Ballet Theatre, New York, and was promoted to Principal Dancer in August 2003.

Carla Körbes

Carla Körbes Principal Dancer of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Dance Open: 2010

Carla Körbes was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and began her ballet training at five. At the age of 11 she began studying at Ballet Vera Bublitz. In 1999, she was made an apprentice with New York City Ballet. She became a member of the corps de ballet in 2000. She was promoted to soloist in 2005 and later joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as a soloist. In 2006 became a principal dancer.
